I’m in the process of restoring an islander I got at a farm auction -1st pic.
The second pic. Shows a new top on the left and my original top on the right. Does anyone have an explanation for the 4 more mounts on the left top? The base I have only has for bolt holes.
The third pic. Shows the base. My question is mounting the rear cover. I’ve seen pictures that show a mounting bracket, but I do not see where one was broke or ground off my base. There are just two screw holes. Would this just use longer screws to attach the cover?
Thank you in advance for any info.

The two bosses in the front of the cover are for an angle iron bracket. The angle iron bracket has two mounting holes for the front cover. The two in the back catch a bump out that's welded on the rear(this bump out also has two mounting holes for the rear cover) , it appears from your picture yours doesn't have this part welded on, apparently you have a slightly different version.

I have a great deal of literature available for the 240 Series Islanders. http://petrolianacollectibles.com/eco-240%20parts.htm

The Service Manual will help you with a lot of answers.

Is there a ID tag on the meter anywhere?

Thanks for the pictures Stevo... that’s what I was looking for.
Jack. I’ve emailed you a few times and left you a voicemail, I’m not sure what more I can do. Thanks
