I had a pretty good week getting more for my Texaco collection. The 42" is really rough, but the price was too cheap to leave it. Also picked up an 8' long "Texaco Ahead" sign, but I haven't taken a pic of it yet. Now I need to try and find the matching "Ladies" sign...

Just one little wood container though probably around 100 years old. A neat addition to the Imperial Oil 'Diamond' grease tins.

A little over a week ago, I received a phone call from a friend that's 2 states away. Being in the business of restoring gas pumps, he often gets calls from people wanting to sell their pump, or at least get it appraised (you never know which). He had received a call from a man here in North Dakota that felt he should sell some things, as he was getting up there in years. This would be a big trip for him and he really wasn't interested in the time and expense involved for a smaller deal with a lot of unknowns. To make a long story short, it turned out that the man was someone that had called me 6 years earlier to buy the same exact pumps and the trip turned out to be an appraisal visit and nothing more. This man was somewhat of a hoarder and it truly pained him to even think of selling something! My friend and I talked it over and he gave me the green light to go ahead and do whatever I could on the deal. After a phone call, I discovered that they had intended to call me but had lost my phone number with the passage of time. After some discussion on value and making a point that I wasn't coming there for an appraisal, we set a date and time to meet at his warehouse. I gathered my straps and trailer and a very strong assistant and headed out! It was a very cold and wintery day but there wasn't any big snow banks to deal with, so we pulled up to the old dilapidated rail car(warehouse) and proceeded to deal on the gas pumps. There were 2 Wayne 515's in pretty fair shape and two Wayne 615's that had enough damage to relegate them to parts pumps. We came to an agreement on the price of the pumps, but try as we might, he would NOT SELL ANYTHING ELSE! We loaded the pumps onto the trailer and the pickup and then on a whim, my helper walked over to him and explained that he would really like the old Coke cooler in the back corner. I guess he either didn't care about it, or he like the way my helper carried those pumps, but he changed his tune and sold it to him? We moved a few things and loaded the cooler and headed for home. I will soon have a bunch of good Wayne 615 parts for sale, as soon as I can get at moving them to my shop for disassembly. The real story here is twofold---Always keep in contact with those deals that don't work out, because they will for someone, someday! AND be thankful for the friends that you have made along the way in this hobby! You never know when the same kind of situation might arise for you!!!

Bought the Standard Polarine sign and the Atlas Esso thermometer last Wed in SC. Also, about 7 different Esso cans. Please excuse how the pictures are sideways. New to the forum and uploading.

When I posted the load of pumps, I had forgotten this Cities Service Koolmotor lens! I was able to buy it from someone on facebook and it filled an empty side on this clover body! The Once-Always lens was a facebook purchase also, but was a couple months back. Anyway, I now have lenses on both sides of my empty clover body! The 2 sides sure don't match, but I think I will just rotate it every month and it will be like having a new globe every 30 days! LOL
