Hello everyone,
My names Jeff, I am 28 years old and have always had an interest in antique gas pumps/signs. My grand father (who I lived directly across the street from) opened one of the first major gas/service stations in the Levittown PA area. It was a Texaco station with 3 islands (6 pumps) and a 3 bay garage.
My uncles, older cousins and father all grew up working there and from the stories, my grand father had alot of pride in his station (sometimes re-painting the white islands every couple of weeks).
Unfortunately, before I was born, my father and one uncle bought the station from my grandfather. Things didnt work out between them and not long after the equipment sold and station closed down.
The original building is still just down the street from me. It is now a small automotive repair shop with no gas station. I was very close to my grandfather, he inspired me to serve in the Navy and be the best man I could be. He passed away a few years back and I bought his house from my aunts and uncles.
I dont have alot, but plan on building a nice collection of Texaco antiques. I already found a Tokheim 39 short gas pump (in Sunoco colors) that I plan on restoring to Texaco Fire Chief or Texaco Sky Chief colors. (Need suggestions on which one to go with).
Thank you for allowing me to join. I plan on learning alot here.
-Jeff

This is one of the only original items I have from the shop. An old Texaco clock that survived a shop fire. It still works!

Welcome to Oldgas. Best of luck with your pump project!
Regards, Jim
I collect gas pump salt and pepper shakers and the plastic coin banks made by AVSCO.

Welcome and thanks for sharing the photos. Wish I had a photo of my Grandpa at work. Priceless.
